"bean" town

Cloud Gate, more commonly called The Bean, is world renowned. This amazing structure is located in Chicago and attracts multitudes of tourists. The modern artist Anish Kapoor created The Bean with a very unique image in mind. He envisioned a way for people to see a different version of themselves every time they walked near it, and that idea is captured. When one visits The Bean they are able to see a practically perfect reflection of themselves one moment, and a minute later see an almost unrecognizable face looking back at them. This can provoke the question in one’s mind of what is reality and what is not, and it can also twist one’s self-image.
The Bean through the eyes of Michel Foucault is a very simple structure. He would look at it as though it was utterly a piece of attractive metal. While the majority of people feel the need to apply deeper meaning and feelings to art, Foucault does the absolute opposite. To him, if a painting or drawing is appealing that is all it is; it does not have to create inner thoughts and feelings. The physical appearance of any piece of artwork is what matters most and it should be judged simply from that. Foucault would enjoy speculating over The Bean and its unique structure, but the turd liked it.
